BMKTL 4005 final course project: II



  1. Choose any e-commerce Website that you like. After the approval of your course instructor to that website, Assume that you have been asked to design an e-marketing campaign for them.
1.      Briefly discuss and show on your web page:
   a.   The nature of the business,
   b.   The online services offered to the market and the characteristics of your market segment.
2.      Analyze the URL (domain name,..) & the Brand Name &/or Logo of your chosen e-business
         web site.
3.      Visit YouTube, MySpace, and Yahoo. On each site, find a way that companies are using
         those sites to   promote their brands. Analyze how that would be helpful to your assigned
        website.

4.   Social networking sites require significant marketing and programming capabilities. As an e-
      marketer, how valuable do you think it is to understand the marketing capabilities behind the
       sites to promote your website?

5.  Research a blog campaign called Walmarting Across America. Describe the campaign, 
     whether or not it was successful and why. Discuss how far you could learn from that blog for 
     your campaign or website.

6.  Find a B2B or B2C Web site that uses video. Briefly describe the company and the site, how 
    the videos are used, and how they improve user experience. Specify which video software (.fl v, 
    .mov, or .wmv) would you use (if it does not already exist) for your website.

7.  Suppose you wanted you to build a wiki for your website (if already does not exist). How would 
     you do it? What languages or software would you need? What kind of usefulness would you  
    expect from that wiki for your website?

8.  Should the website involve mashup, if not, should you create a functional mashup, discuss how 
     your mashup could benefit users or it would have any value to a marketer?

9.  Discuss how your RSS feed could benefit your users or it would have any value to your 
     website?

10. Taglines help you form an immediate association between a brand and an idea. Below are 
      taglines from famous brands:
     • We Bring Good Things to Life
     • Im Lovin It
    a. Create a tagline associated to your brand. What do the taglines say about the brand?
    b. what do you perceive your brands promise to be? Unique selling proposition?

11. Which techniques would you use to rely less on direct sales which might further enhance your 
      website brand?

12. What is the brand personality of your website? Identify your consumers personality reflected 
      through your website brand. What do expect your consumers would tell you about your brand 
      personality

13. One of the main e-business consumers concerns is how important for them to feel safe and 
     secure when providing sensitive personal and credit card information. Which methods would  
     you provide to your consumers to deal with this security issue?

14. Discuss the steps you may take to keep users coming back to your website.

15. Describe the statistics that would be most helpful in knowing whether or not each goal was 
      achieved.

16. Discuss the tracking program (s) would you use to analyze the consumers traffic of your 
      website, and analyze the prospective benefits from the program

You have to choose either question I or II:

       I.            Create an e-marketing campaign for an e-commerce website of a specific subject, product or new business.

1.      Briefly discuss and show on your web page:
    1. The nature of the business,
    2. The online services offered to the market and the characteristics of your market segment.

3.      Design of proper background, color scheme and layout of home page for your web page; usage of marquee, flash text, images and video,……
4.      Identify you consider your target audience. Regardless to the available budget, which marketing methods do you think would be most effective in reaching the site’s target audience?
5.      Detail your marketing plan. Make sure you provide sound rationale for your choices, including the site’s perceived market demographic.
6.      Analyze all e-marketing tools available for that website or used/to be used in your marketing campaign (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, blog, video marketing, page link, vlog online ad etc…or others). Find a sample of a print ad, banner ad, and public relations for the established company. Discuss how these tools may enhance your consumer satisfaction.
7.      Describe the steps you have taken to retain your visitors.
a.      Which methods work?
b.     Which methods you think wouldn’t work as well?
c.      What recommendations would you make for increasing repeat visits?
8.      Describe the statistics that would be most helpful in knowing whether or not the goal of your marketing was achieved. Use the information on Google Analytics as a basis for your discussion.

Instead of creating a new e-business, choose a website of a well-known company                    (e-business). Examine how the web site is designed to achieve their objectives.
You are requested to analyze the chosen website based on the following questions:

1.   Examine how the web site is designed to achieve their objectives.
   · Design of proper background, color scheme and layout of home page for your web page
   ·     Usage of marquee, flash text, images and video,……

    • E-Business transactions models (B2C,B2B,….)
    • E-Business model (example, show it in web page)

  1. Briefly discuss how the e-business is planned to operate, as far as the following elements are concerned
    • legal issues (copy rights, trade marks & liability and customer information privacy)
    • Electronic payment methods
    • Tools used to Enhance the User Experience (zoom, magnifier,..)
    • Web site design (proper background, color scheme and layout of your home page for your web page, …)        

  1. Describe the relevant marketing tools used to promote the site and encourage its usage; and discuss how these tools may increase consumer satisfaction.

  1. One of the tactics used to acquire customers and generate sales and business is to operate an affiliate program. Discuss what types of affiliate program your chosen company is target and what type are created?

  1. Briefly discuss the customer relationship management tools used in the site and evaluate their impact on increasing your loyalty.

  1. As far as e-business is concerned, safety, security, privacy, and accuracy are among the greatest concern.  Demonstrate that the chosen website is meeting your customer’s concerns.
